“Before you were forever” - book and typeface design “The Stone” for Norvegian artist Marianne Heier
May 2024

The book is a discreet, yet unapologetic, feminist reading of the past and present with a particular focus on deconstructing inherited notions of identity and gender.

The publication includes the scrip and photo documentation from Heier’s two site-specific performances at the Stålaker Quarry in Larvik, Norway in 2015 and at a quarry in Bagnolo Piemonte, Italy in 2017.
The work addresses issues of democracy and social representation, as well as the (re)production of the Western art canon through a dialogue with six iconic ancient Greek sculptures.
The sculptures are embodied by dancers from Kompani Kunstgress.
